Welcome Back Students and Parents!
Look here often for updates on what you child is learning and what is happening around the school.
With benchmark 2 slowly upon us, please make sure that your child is completing their homework each night. Have conversations and ask them questions about what they have learned.
These little questions will stir up quite a lot of deep thinking!
Please make sure that you are reviewing vocabulary at home with your student. Vocabulary is one the of key elements to a successful 5th grade science class and students should use these new terms often and correctly at home, whenever possible.
Science Fair projects will be due soon. Please email me if you have any questions or concerns.
Safety in the Classroom
The second half of the first quarter students will begin to experiment with mixtures and solutions. Although the materials we use in class aren't toxic or dangerous, students need to be taught to be safe during experimenting at all times.
If you have any of the following items laying around at home and would like to donate them, it would be greatly appreciated!
We are in need of rubber gloves (Dish style gloves or disposable gloves) Safety goggles, and aprons.
Thank you in advance for all your support!
Science Fair Projects
Science Fair Projects will be due soon.
Please make sure you child is on track to present their lesson.
If you have any questions please feel free to email me.
The Robotics club is off to a wonderful start.
Students have already begun to challenge each other and prepare for the competition.
In planning for the event, we are brainstorming ideas on our team T-Shirts. Purple being the color that best represents our school, be prepared to purchase one so we can all match!
Look for a note going home soon inviting you to our Family Night Showcase!
This will take place in February.
